Function Number 1207
Ocha Japanese Restaurant
Tuesday 18 September 2018
A favourite restaurant of many members, as well as the Society we return to Ocha. For more than 20 years Ocha has been tempting Melburnians with contemporary Japanese flavours meticulously prepared from the freshest ingredients. Traditional techniques are combined with imaginative touches to create tastes and textures both approachable and memorable.
We have had many very successful and enjoyable functions at Ocha over the years, however when they moved to their (then) new premises in Church Street Hawthorn, from the very small restaurant in Kew, it was not a suitable space for the WFSV. The good news is that recently Ocha has taken over the premises next door, which includes a new function room that the WFSV will have exclusively on the night. That will allow us the space to enjoy pre dinner drinks and canapes until we are seated in comfort.
If you want to experience some of the best Japanese food in Melbourne, matched with excellent wines from the WFSV cellar, you will need to book fast, although we have not put a limit on attendees, the space is best suited for about 24.
Food and Wine Masters Wayne Tonissen and Neville Smethurst have worked with Ocha to decide on an impressive menu and wines to compliment the night have been carefully selected.
