We were pleased to be returning to Matteo’s, such a friendly establishment that appreciates our members, our society and our commitment to good wine and food. European classic wines from our cellar accompanied a delicious celebratory meal to end this complicated year.

Matteo’s, established in 1994, is a classic Melbourne dining experience built on quality, comfort and community.

Thanks so much to Neville and Drew for their organisation of the event – 42 of us excited to go out together, shared an enjoyable delicious meal with great wines from our cellar.

At this function,  our longest continuous member Guill de Pury was awarded a Certificate of Merit from the Federation of Wine and Food Societies of Australia by Janet Barton, the current Vice President of the FWFSA. This award was to acknowledge his membership since February 1969, his support and commitment over all of these years. Members of the WFSV and the wider group have appreciated him sharing his vast knowledge of the Australian wine industry and his family’s part in that history.  It was delightful that Guill and his wife Katherine were able to attend the Matteo’s function.
