The Champagne season is in full swing in Melbourne and it really is at its peak in November during the Melbourne Racing Carnival
International Champagne day was last week and what better way to celebrate this than with a Champagne function.
Our Champagne functions are always eagerly anticipated. They are fun, semi educational and delicious, showcasing just how different Champagnes can be, whilst as the same time being versatile food wines. We will also be looking at some of the small grower Champagnes, which have revolutionised Champagne by focusing on specific vineyards and vintage selection.
Wine and Food Masters Faye Bowyer and Janet Barton promise that this will be an amazing function, showcasing some fabulous Champagnes and food.
We will be dining at The Recreation which has continued to go from strength to strength. The food here is always fabulous – homage to beautiful ingredients and wonderful technique.
The team have put together a menu especially for us to compliment the array of Champagnes we will be enjoying.
We have a special treat planned with a highlight pairing of 2008 Cristal versus 2008 Dom Perignon. They are two of the top Champagnes from one of the best vintages- it will be a privilege to compare these two outstanding wines.
This function will be restricted to 18 participants. Priority will be given to members but if you wish to bring a guest please still book them in.
This promises to be a function not to miss.
